We reviewed ELEVEN Australia’s I Want Body Texture Spray to see if the liquid and powder mixture was really the secret combination to the perfect texture spray.
Bailee: Medium length, thick and wavy.
Jenni: Medium length, fine and thin with some wave.
Erin: My hair is fine and fairly bleached, so I have some texture to it.
What did you know about the product before you used it?
Bailee: I knew it was different because it contains both powder and liquid. That drew me into the product, and I love the ELEVEN brand.
Jenni: That it had a visible mixture of liquid and powder. Honestly, I thought it would be like every other texture spray I’ve tried.
Erin: I knew that it was Bailee’s favorite product, and that you had to shake it to activate.
Did anything surprise you?
Bailee: It worked immediately. I applied it directly to my dry curls and it gave me the perfect boost and texture!
Jenni: It smells really good! And then I realized it was really good! No tacky feeling, and it didn’t weigh my very fine hair down at all!
Erin: Ooh, I like that it isn’t an aerosol! I feel like I use up those texture sprays in about two days.
What does it smell like?
Bailee: It has a fruity scent. Watermelon and kiwi.
Jenni: Refreshing, a little fruity.
Erin: It smells like that I-just-left-the-salon fragrance, you know the one you can never seem to replicate so you avoid shampooing for at least five days after a hair appointment? Well, now I don’t have to do that, thank goodness.
What does it feel like in your hair?
Bailee: It doesn’t feel like I have anything in my hair!
Jenni: It felt like the texture I’ve always wanted my hair to have but could never quite find in a product.
Erin: After a few seconds of drying time, the spray lifted my roots and gave them the same texture that my lightened hair gives me.
What did you notice after using it?
Bailee: It gave my hair more volume and texture.
Jenni: No matter how much I applied to build volume and texture, the feeling of my hair remained soft and natural. It provided a great texture!
Erin: I could play with my roots and dishevel them easier, without them falling flat.
Who or what would it be good for?
Bailee: Anyone who lacks natural volume or wants more texture.
Jenni: Anyone with fine hair, those who wants to add a little extra hold to a style, or those who want to increase the volume and texture of their hair.
Erin: It’s good for getting volume at the roots. I would recommend using this before braiding (as a styling aid for grip) or after flat ironing to add some texture and body.
Have you ever used a texture spray before? How does this one compare?
Jenni: YES. A LOT. This one is so natural feeling! I love using it on my air-dried waves or after styling to add volume. I love that you can build the texture in your hair without increasing the feel of the product in your hair.
Erin: Yes, but not this type of product. It’s a cross between a sea salt spray, a hairspray, and and a powder volumizer.
Would you use it again?
Bailee: Of course!
Jenni: ABSOLUTELY! I bought it right away!
Erin: Yes, I’m excited to see what will happen if I spray this onto damp hair and then blow-dry.
